“Take Courage! Growing Stronger After Losing Your Spouse” is hot off the press! This book, written by 9 international authors, focuses on helping the widowed survive the first year after losing their spouse. I also wrote one of the chapters! I began a Zoom study of this book with widowed men on February 9th. This group meets weekly on Wednesday evenings from 6-8:00 PM (PST). Any widowed man may join us. After my wife Cheri passed on December 14, 2017, I quickly discovered the value of processing my grief in a group. In a community of the bereaved, I found comfort, good counsel, strength to go on, and healing for the empty place in my heart. I’m fond of saying, “Dealing with the grief process is best done as a team sport.” Yes, times of solitude and communion with God are an absolute must, but throughout the past four years, I have heard many others say how much our grief groups have helped them.
