The Power of Re - Part 2

Hi. I’m Bruce. I’m the leader of The Widows Project’s outreach to widowed men. I’m here today to talk with you about part two of “The Power of Re”. I hope you’ve seen part one. If not, here’s what I mean when I say “Re”. Some examples will help you understand. Re-filling, re-calling, re-imaging, re-directing, re-placing, re-calibrating, re-pairing, re-inventing. In fact, one of the primary purposes of Re is to allow God to re-invent us; because when we’ve been widowed, when we are grieving, we have lost our identity. We don’t know who we are. We used to be this and now, that’s dead. And He will reinvent us if we give Him the opportunity. I’ll show you what I mean.

What can you expect from good Re? In part one, you’ll find a recipe for good Re, and that will help you. It will probably morph over time. In the beginning, when I did my afternoon reset time, pretty much all I did was cry. And then, I began to read. And that morphed into reading aloud to God. And now, I very often write, or do something like this [video]. It will focus your energy – focus your energy on the reinvention that God is doing. It will improve your performance; because, as I said in part one, flogging the dog just doesn’t work very well. It will accelerate your finding your “new normal” – as they say. It will accelerate God’s reinvention of you and revealing to you who you are now. I know this because God did all of that for me.

Look forward in part three to some examples that may help spark your thinking about Re.

Let me pray for you.

God, right now, I believe You’re stirring some hearts of hurting people that need to be reinvented by You. I pray that You will direct them in finding a place where they can reset, be reinvented, and find their new self after being widowed or after any kind of grievous loss. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
